Hello all,

I am new to this forum and all things allergies. Over the past 4 months I seemed to have developed an allergic reaction to what I believe is Coconut and tree nuts. I have suffered swollen eyes and extreme swollen Lips to a point where I have been bleeding where they have split. Pharmacists have sent me away saying it will go down and being so new to this, I did not consider a trip to A&E...

Following on from two episodes as described above, I went to my doctor as I was continuously suffering from hives. They turned me away saying it was urticaria and put me on steroids for 5 days. This did not help matters. I returned asking for blood tests or some form of allergy testing to be told its a waste of time and they will not refer me. Not of to want to be seen as wasting NHS time and resources I have since looked into private testing, yet again being turned away by the first Doctor I approached.

I feel very disheartened and alone at the thought of only guessing what is causing these reactions. I am finding it incredibly difficult to find any body washes or shampoos and hand washes that do not contain a derivative of coconuts.

Cant any of you lovely people be of any help.

TIA :D Beki
